Immigrant Visas: Employment-Based (for permanent status in the United States)
Most employment-based immigrant visas leading to permanent residence, "Green Card" status, consist of three steps. The first step is the application for a labor certification from the Department of Labor, while the second and the third steps are applications to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS"). Acquiring the labor certification from the Department of Labor allows the applicant to apply for permanent residence with USCIS based on employment. Our team of professionals works with the Department of Labor and other national agencies to obtain a labor certification that links the unique skill sets of the employee to the individual needs of a particular company; in order to place the application in the highest possible preference category given the prevailing national employment environment.
Please contact our offices to determine whether your application for permanent residence would require an application for labor certification from the Department of Labor.

There are several categories of visas that provide for the rapid issuance of employment and travel options in renewable periods of several years. Often a strategy combining a non-immigrant visa and an immigrant visa can be developed to provide the ability to come to the U.S. quickly and ultimately, have "Green Card" status.
